The Pull Station is located in the garage, so the only two causes of false alarms are moisture and freezing temperatures.
The module is not rated to operate under 32 F. You could try to disconnect the module from the metal frame, then wrap it in several layers of electrical tape.
Let me know if that solved your problem.

Grease
if there is a little corrosion a little grease on the terminals.
if it is getting water, pack it with grease. open the module and pack all the components.
the more grease the better

The annual testing company told the customer that it is simply due to the cold temperatures. They removed the pull station and left the panel in trouble showing missing device. They are apparently planning on installing the module in the FACP and running a conventional pull station in the garage at this location (from 5 months ago, they still haven't done it). Funny that the other pull station in the garage hasn't caused any problems what so ever and it is exposed to the same temperatures. Also we checked and the wires were clean on both and no moisture either.
Another EST/MIR addressable question for you guys. Might sound newbie-ish. To replace an addressable heat or pull station on this system I was told by a Edwards tech that the devices can be replaced one for one with a new device of the same type and the new device doesn't need to be programmed? is this correct? or was he just pulling my chain?
Thanks

Panel is a MIR-2. We recently had a communication failure on a garage pull station and couldn't figure out why. After more investigation we determined that one of the wires going to the module on the back of the pull station was slightly discolored and figured that it must have been corroded. So we remade the connection. We tried resetting the panel but it still came up with a communication failure. We then decided to replace the pull station and everything reset and stayed clear. All was fine for a month or so and then all of a sudden the same pull station went into alarm for no reason.
Any ideas of what might have caused the false alarm? No signs of moisture or tampering with the pull station.
Thanks for the help in advanced.
