EST loop addressing procedure

I mean the addressing of the detectors, (when you give serial numbers to SDU an address will be given to that special serial by the panel.)
when you connect all the detectors on the loop and upload from the panel, These addresses will shown on the SDU just next to the serial numbers of the detectors.
How is the addressing procedure on the loop? Does it follow the topology on the loop?
