EST2 programming procedure

I need to remove two smoke detectors from the est2 program due to a remodel project. What are the steps to remove the two smoke detectors from the program. I am est3 certified. I have the current sdu project the est2 the software and cable. I am just unsure how to proceed to download the new database into the panel.

physically remove the devices and use reconfig option through the 2-lcd. no need to download
