Hi Friends,

I want to know some testing methods for ESt3 system RS484 network card and RS232 card ,
1. How to verify RS485 card working condition whether is is damaged or not.
2. How to verify RS485 port which is in CPU card ,
3. How to verify RS232 card working condition whether is is damaged or not.
4. How to check RS232 port which is in CPU card.

it will be useful to do the troubleshooting, If any one help me to do this,

the boards almost never go bad, so you want to think what am I doing wrong and move in that direction.

RS232: the first thing I would be is put my meter on ground and transmit run a history report and watch for the negative -9 volts fluctuate.
then you can put a computer on it open hyperterminal and once you get the baud and other settings right you can watch the report run.
look for other post on how to run hyperterminal


RS485: good luck, never had a bad rs485 board, always it was me.
if you can put the two cpu's next to each other and wire it, bet it works
