EST2 to IO

Post by Ben »

Looking to see if anyone has a way top attribute the EST2 short addresses to the IO panels addresses when the loop is new started after panel change. Currently if the 2-sdu is left onsite i am able to extract serial numbers and descriptions but it is very time consuming. The added inability of the IO-CU to reconcile modules is making the panel upgrades fairly tedious. just looking to see if anyone had worked out a better system especially as a lot of 2's do not have SDU's onsite.

If you have one handy, you could use SIGA-MFT to export device addresses and serial numbers to a text file.

You may also use like an old/used EST-3 temporarily to upload maps and accept all, assign temporary labels to all devices preferably use the address as your label then configure a gateway port, compile and convert then export gateway files, the .OXP file is a text file that will contains the serial numbers along with the labels you assign (the device address).

As far as descriptions, your only hope - besides having the SDU - is to connect a Hyper Terminal (or PuTTy) and disconnect loop wire and see if you can capture trouble printouts, try baud 9600/4800/2400 with Even Parity, 7 Data bits and 2 Stop bits, otherwise it is the tedious looking at the display and hand write descriptions.

Good Luck.

latest mft software does not give you accurate addresses, it could also be the latest firmware update broke it.
