A few thoughts
did you replaced the siga-IB
remove the smoke and check the volts on both sides of the siga-IB
how many siga-IB on the circuit, how many segments
when you remove the short does the circuit clear
are more then the shorted segment siga-IB opening causing the problem
remove the return of the SLC loop off the panel see what happens

Hi, thanks for your reply, I tried all the mentioned above, on this loop I got one siga-IB every five detectors( 24 siga-IB ), sometimes after doing the short 2 or 3 segments are opening, and when I remove the short the circuit didn't clear.

In a class A Loop, when doing short circuit test on any of the loop segments between two IBs (Siga-IB), sometimes the IBs operates properly and sometimes i loose the communication with all the devices.

Do anyone has any solution for this problem ??
