EST 3 Map Faults

Over the last 5 years I have seen an increase in map faults. After looking at all the evidence I have determined the culperate to be the changing of the metals used fro the contacts on the newer smoke detectors. Although EST/UTC hasn't officially admitted to the problem they did redesign the base to be more rugged stating the old Siga SB flexed too much therefore not having good contact. I'd buy that except most of the problems I've had lately were due to a smoke detector on a souner base mounted to an Siga AB4G surface box were there is no flexing. Hence you clean the contact of the oxidation and all is better.
So the question I pose is.. How many other have seen an increase of map faults lately?
