Est-3 newbie programmer

I have a question regarding to making some changes on a est-3 system regarding message changes and adding devices into service group. After I have made my changes which are the next steps.

its a longshot on such an old post, but here goes.

I'm a newbie programmer too, how exactly did you add new devices to the existing loop in the first place?
could you please give me a step by step of it?
