We have a building that has one panel and one annunciator.

Plan used to be clear all the time. Now its showing annunciator comm ch2 trouble all the time. The annunciator is still communicating with the panel, just this stupid trouble shows all the time.

The only thing we have changed on the panel (while testing) is the reset inhibit. When we select save it asks for save & sync or just save. Whats the difference in the two? We usually select save and sync. Could selecting save or save and sync cause a problem with the database and the annunciator?

Please help. I hate this panel lol

You should try to download directly in each panel/annunciator. Sometime save and sync doesn't work how it should.

you probably set it for class A network

Double checked the panel addresses and made sure they were set for class B wiring (which is how the annuciator is wired).

Re-loaded the program from my laptop. System stayed clear for about 2mins after saying system normal (after the download completed). Went to the annuciator and uploaded the program for panel 2 and panel shows clear. Then shortly after the annuciator and panel both show annuciator ch 2 trouble again. Also the panel showed card 3 line initialization monitor. It seems to show this after every soft or hard reset and then clears itself after a minute or two.

Not sure whats going on. Removed the RS-485 data wiring from the panel and annuciator and metered wiring to confirm continuity between the two. Also checked for grounds, all appears okay.

Tried loading a new version of the program to both, now the panel says ANN 02 LED/switch display trouble and won't clear. Also after loading the program several times at each panel, the panels sometimes showed an incompatible database message. But other times it was fine and this was after the program was loaded at both panels that this message appeared.

Newbie to quickstart here btw, so please help make it easy to understand.

Also the panel now showing ANN 02 LED/switch display trouble doesn't show the ANN CH02 communication trouble anymore.

I'm leaning towards a hardware fault in either the annunciator or panel itself. Anyone with any thoughts?

Got it all clear. Turned out to be a bad card in the annuciator specifically the RAI card which is the one that the wiring connects to from the main panel for power and communication. Replaced it, re-loaded the database and it still showed the ANN 02 LED/switch display. Checked the programming and the annunciator was somehow missing the two 30 zone led display modules. Added those back in a it all cleared and stayed clear.
