New install Tips and thoughts

-no help via the help on the tool bar, copy manuals to pc install adobe reader via manual CD and copy all manual to desktop, the only manual the operators will need is(53094A3 Unimode Network Manager Workstation.pdf)
Installer will need - 53379A3 UniMode Network Manager Configuration Tool.pdf

- on the computer/server that you are doing your the installation change the monitor display so the unimode workstation does not take up the whole screen, so you can get to you desktop, you will not be able to move the workstation app around.

- if there are active points on the system and the server is rebooted, when the system starts the active point will not redisplay, the active point will need to restore then go active to display as an active input. Note all the active points before rebooting the system.

-Once install is done, stop the system from auto creating icons

Control Profile - you need control to ack,etc
The idea is multiple workstations can see the same thing but only one at a time can control it (different from 1.5)
open Control Profile, right click over network - Activate control.
A paper clip will display to the left on a Icon that you have control over.



-How the Icon and Description will display
Configure->options->general
The device Icons can display the Description or different parts of the event label and/or Alis
The input point is not displayable within 3.12 as it was with 1.5, You may need to add it the the event label point Alis.
I would program it so only the device event label Alis displays with the Icon.

Programming from home without the Software key/hasp
ONYXworks can be loaded, ran, and programmed without the software key, the upgrade wizard will also work.
You can not configure the RTU's via right clicking a Icon, it will be grayed out.

Needed apps on the sever computer
The server has no programs with shipped from Honeywell, IE excel,open office, app to play the wave files if needed.
I find it a must to open and view the old and new database via excel/openoffice (Matrix.mdb)

Backups
Do a backup a few times a day it is very easy and quick, once a day zip it and move, look at the backup post for help on backing up
