Hi,
I have 5 EST3 panels which are connected to each other through RS485 and one of these panels is connected to fireworks.
Now I want to connect another one of these panels to fireworks, I have opend AUXPORT 1,GATEWAY III on 19200 buad rate, But I have connectivity problem, I have connected the pc with 10 meter length cable to panel following the installation manual,
I still have AUXPORT1 TROUBLE on the LCD of Panel. I have negative voltage on my cable too.
Any suggestion?
I will appreciate any help.
Firework problem
Re: Firework problem
Let us try these:
1. RS-232 card in the EST3 panel. Do you have this card installed? If yes, can you make sure it is securely plugged in.
2. Cable between PC and panel. Check continuity. Make sure
Pin 2 of DB9 connects to Tx of panel
Pin 3 of DB9 connects to Rx of panel
Pin 5 of DB9 connects to COM of panel
3. Did you configure Gateway Type III and 19.2 K baud rate at the port of the EST3 panel where your FireWorks is connected. Verify the port number and make sure your cable is connected to the right port. At FireWorks, make sure that you have defined Gateway type III too at the same baud rate, 19.2K.
4. Run the System Builder of your FireWorks and go to Comm Mgr. Did you configure the port and verify that it is enabled.

Re: Firework problem
Dear Friend,
Be sure that:
Pin 2 of DB9 should be connected to Tx2 of CPU, then
Pin 3 of DB9 should be connected to Rx2 of CPU, and
Pin 5 of DB9 should be connected to COM2 of CPU

Re: Firework problem
first of all thank you both for helping me in this matter
Yes I have connected pin 2 to TX and pin3 to RX and and pin 5 to COM, I also have negative voltage on TX and RX pins at the end of my cable which will be connected to pc.in system builder I also set the comm port on gateway type 3 on 19.2K baud rate (It is just like as I set in SDU for cpu gateway, type III and 19.2K baud rate)
I connect the panel RS232 DB9 port to a RS232 to USB convertor, then I connect it to the USB port on my pc.
the RS232 to USB is com port 3 and in sys builder I set the fireworks on com 3.
I Did whatever I could but nothing happened!
Any other solution ?

Re: Firework problem
try to lower the baud rate... lets say 9600
Re: Firework problem
Dear Friend,
i had the same problem, and i follow the instructions i write to you ( that come from Chito Adapon, my teacher from UTC fire and security).
But as i notice that you use the USB to RS232 converter, this is the main problem i meet in the past for many times, try to change it.
I use the converter for the QuickStart and it worked, but it didn't work with EST3, try to find stable one.
Hope you will find the way.
Sincerly
