Buffer/unbuffer NETAXS-123 panel
Buffer/unbuffer NETAXS-123 panel
Can anyone explain what buffering and unbuffering NETAXS-123 panels does and when/if I would want to do that?
Re: Buffer/unbuffer NETAXS-123 panel
when you swipe a card and the door unlocks you have created an event.
this event resides in the panel until it is sent to the access control software.
Buffering and unbuffering the panel was very important with the older Northern N-1000 panels.
this is because if the N-1000 panel was not buffered and the access control software was not running the panel would send the events anyway.
so it was important to buffer the panel when the software was not running.
This is not as important with the newer panels and software.
To buffer the panel is to stop the panel from sending the events to the computer.
when the panel is unbuffer it will send the events held in its buffer and the events as they occur
all that said I see no reason to buffer these newer panels.
